The Timber Development Association is not just constantly adding new timber information and resources to its leading industry website timber.net.au but it listens to its users and makes adjustments when and where necessary.

Recently the site has undergone a major overhaul and now has a new look and feel, much more user friendly with more detail particularly for the specifiers, builders and professional designers and developers.

Our species guide has been revised with many well known timbers added. A lot of these timbers are regularly available; you will know the names, even if you haven't seen them before. If a supplier offers you "Flooded Gum" or "Kempas" flooring you will be able to get all the information at a click on timber.net.au

We have also added a new resource section on Long Span Timber Beams, which includes span tables, design comparisons and supplier contact details. This material will be invaluable in contemporary residential design and construction.

TDA is also moving into online CPD, with the introduction of a course for builders, funded in part by the NSW Office of Fair Trading. This first free online program presents training on Termite Management and provides a Certificate of Completion giving the participant 5 OFT/CPD points.

This is just the first of what TDA expects to be a series of CPD program which will be of assistance, not only to builders, but all designers and users of timber.

Log on to timber.net.au regularly, if only just to keep yourself up to date.
