Monday, 15 August 2011 00:00 |
EXPAN,
a revolutionary new building system from
Structural Timber Innovation Company
is the next big thing in timber design. With joist depths comparable to concrete and steel solutions, EXPAN at last makes possible high rise, wide span timber buildings. No wonder then that industry insiders are gushing:
“EXPAN is a genuine disruptive technology,” says Andrew Dunn, CEO of TDA. “We’re seeing markets open up that have hitherto been closed to timber. I believe that EXPAN and similar systems are about to transform architecture and construction in Australia.”
EXPAN comprises a range of composite and post-stressed, prefabricated timber systems that lock together using embedded metal tendons.

Monday, 15 August 2011 00:00 |

To facilitate action against competitors making such claims, Forest and Wood Products Australia Limited (FWPA) engaged TDA to develop an Action Kit for all Wood. Naturally Better™ Partners.
While conducting research for the kit, TDA discovered numerous examples of marketing by steel framing and aluminium fabricators that are potentially non-compliant with the new Australian Consumer Law.

Websites update: Uniquely Veneer |
Monday, 15 August 2011 00:00 |
One of TDA’s strong competitive advantages is its in-house web development team. Andrew Dunn, our CEO, started building this team seven years ago, having recognised that online communication should be one of our core competencies, not a task to be outsourced.
That strategic decision has paid off in various significant ways. One of these is growing online recognition of the
Australian Timber Design Awards
brand. This has seen strong year on year growth in entry numbers for the Awards.

Take advantage of our #1 Google ranking |
Monday, 15 August 2011 00:00 |
Our timber.net.au website still holds the #1 spot for a Google Australia search on "timber" (relegating Wikipedia to second place). As a result, links from that website confer very considerable page rank benefits to a timber-related website. And with over 16,000 unique visitors per month to
timber.net.au, you should at least consider listing your company on our Suppliers Guide, the most popular section of that website.
Standard plans start from as little as $240 pa (+GST) and display your logo, all contact details (with hyperlink and email) and 3 category classifications.
