Christmas came early here at the TDA when association members stood up to show their support for our office relocation – in timber.

Thanks to donations of timber from Boral Timber, Carter Holt Harvey, Hyne, CWC, ITI Australia, Moxon Timbers, and Timbeck Cedar Products, the refurbished TDA offices in St Leonards, Sydney, now serve as a showcase of the beauty and versatility of timber.

“To be honest, we were taken aback by the generous response of our members to our request for suitable timbers,” said TDA structural engineer Tony Walther, the designer of the TDA office fit-out. “It really made clear for me the support we have in the timber industry.”

The donated timbers were as follows:
Boral TimberSilkwood engineered hardwood flooring in a range of timber species including blackbutt, brush box, spotted gum, stringybark, Sydney blue gum, and tallowwood.
Carter Holt Harvey7 mm plywoods and LVL beams.
HyneGlulam beams.
CWCAppearance solid timber beams.
ITI AustraliaFeature profiles from the Ezitrim range of pre-primed timber mouldings, and rusticated and classic weatherboard from the Design Pine range.
Moxon TimbersSpotted gum and cypress cladding, V-jointed cypress, New Guinea rosewood panelling, American oak for internal panelling, and mixed hardwoods with yellow stringybark and New Guinea rosewood for pencil-round screening.

Once again, thank you to our donors for their generous support!
